The details make the difference
Suggested stays are starting points. We will shape the number of nights around your interests, flight schedule, cruise line requirements, and how much time you want on land.
Arrive before embarkation day whenever practical, especially after a long flight or before a remote expedition. Required arrival nights vary by operator. Ed will help balance sightseeing with a final night and transfer that work for your sailing.
Disembarkation, immigration, luggage collection, and the onward journey take time. Ed will help you choose a comfortable first-day plan and discuss hotel arrival arrangements, so a delayed exit from the ship or an early arrival at your hotel does not define the day.
Rome and Civitavecchia, London and Southampton, and Bangkok and Laem Chabang are separate places. Some extensions, such as Quito before the Galápagos, also involve a flight. Ed can coordinate hotels, transfer options, luggage, and realistic travel days.
Ed will work with you to identify applicable visa and travel authorization steps for your passport and route, and direct you to the appropriate official application resources. Share mobility needs, luggage considerations, and other details with Ed so he can help you compare hotel and transfer options that fit you.
These are regional editorial shortlists chosen for their role as cruise gateways and the appeal of a land stay. They are not passenger-volume rankings or a list of every port of call. These are focused regional collections, with smaller shortlists where appropriate. Some ports serve seasonal, repositioning, or specialist departures. Ed will confirm the exact sailing, terminal, operating status, and arrangements before booking.
